Change the World for Fifteen Bucks

We Are What We Do (WAWWD) is a not-for-profit movement inspiring people to use everyday actions to change the world. It is based on a simple message or formula: Small actions x lots of people = BIG CHANGE.
Founded in the UK, WAWWD started as a website. Their first book was launched in the UK in September 2004 called "Change the World for a Fiver". The book contains 50 simple actions to change the world; a mixture of environmental and social actions. WAWWD's second book "Change the World 9 to 5" was published in the UK in September 2006. This book contains 50 actions people can take in the workplace to change the world.
International Success
The WAWWD movement and "Change the World" books have been launched in Australia, Germany and Canada. Nearly 1 million copies of both books have been sold worldwide and nearly 1 million actions have been logged as completed on the website. Corporate support has been huge with many famous names such as Shell, Coca Cola, BBC, Qantas, Ben and Jerry's to name a few.
- Sainsbury's have recently ordered 160,000 copies of the UK's "Change the World 9 to 5" as Christmas gifts for all of its staff
- Optus in Australia order a total of 150,000 copies of the Australian "Change the World" book which they sent to customers
Change the World for Fifteen Bucks - NZ style
The NZ book launches in all good bookstores in February 2008 retailing at $15. As with their other books the price is kept purposefully low to make it affordable to the wider public through pro-bono services, reduced fees, seed funding and pre sales. A handful of key corporate supporters who placed pre orders are getting books prior to Christmas to use as client and staff gifts. Corporate enquiries and orders can be made by emailing us.
Key supporters whose generous support has made the book possible in NZ are:
- NZ Post - pre sales, seed funding
- Moxie Design - design including the inclusion of some unique NZ actions
- Y&R Advertising and bare.pr - marketing and pr campaign
- Blue Star Print - enabling us to print in NZ with sustainable paper and inks
