- 6 November 2007: Africa caught in the tough "food miles" war with UK
- 24 September 2007: Consumers are confusing food miles, or the distance food travels from field to plate, with the total carbon dioxide produced to get food to market, says world class New Zealand chef, Peter Gordon.
- 2 May 2007: Fonterra CEO Andrew Ferrier has criticised the Food Miles debate as "simplistic" in a speech to the Employers and Manufacturers Association in Auckland.
- 28 February 2007: UK backs down on Kiwi food miles tax heads an article in the Dominion Post today, available on www.stuff.co.nz.
2006
- 31 October 2006: NZ Greens write to British Greens on food miles. The NZ Green party's response to a recent uproar in the U.K about imported New Zealand butter and food miles. A Lincoln University study led by Professor Caroline Saunders found that in Britain more greenhouse emissions are released in the production of dairy and lamb than New Zealand imports, even accounting for transport by ship (source www.scoop.co.nz).
- 8 June 2006: Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) New policy on food labelling in Australia, but not legislated in New Zealand.
