Project 2008 - Making New Zealand 'Fit for Purpose'

In order to keep a distinction but recognise the relationship between short and long-term thinking, we have provided a list of initiatives for consideration in 2008 by Members of Parliament, policy analysts, non-government organisations and others interested in making New Zealand 'fit for purpose'.

Project Status

Expected Completion Date: December 2008

Purpose

Project 2008’s strategic aim is to:

Promote ideas and initiatives that can be investigated and ideally implemented in 2008 in order to improve systems, feedback mechanisms and capacity-building so that New Zealand is 'fit for purpose'.

Methodology

The methodology for Project 2008 is attached. The output of Project 2008 will be an on-going list of ideas and potential initiatives. Project 2008 is a by-product of Project 2058.

Publication

December 2007 - Initiatives and Ideas to make New Zealand 'Fit for Purpose'

Project Update

A second list will be prepared and placed online in approximately March 2008.
